I have argued many times that the federal government should not be in the business of lending money for college (nor for any other reason), but as long as we have student loans, we should limit the losses by requiring that someone other than the students be responsible for their debts. That party should be the college itself.

So, what could we do to improve education? Here are some ideas.

Freedom enables opportunities. School choice creates more freedom for parents and students.

Department of Education’s “improvements” to its student loan program will encourage colleges to increase tuition, creates a strong incentive to borrow as much as possible for college, and reduce the level of effort that students put into their college work.

So, what is the 1517 Fund? It is Gibson’s way of finding young people who have ideas and want to put them into effect without the long, expensive detour through college. 

It is time to enable parents to have the freedom to choose the school for their children through school choice.

Why is there this constant attempt to deny the past?

The role of a parent is to protect his child from harm, teach him how to think and make good choices, identify reality, help him understand long-range consequences, and help him to understand that his feelings are not superior to reason.
