In his address before a joint session of Congress last night, Obama dictated his plan for America, to be financed and “serviced” by productive Americans. Obama will take from individuals the wealth that they created and needed for their own plans. The dictator’s plan comes first.

Obama: “[T]he budget I submit will invest in the three areas that are absolutely critical to our economic future: energy, health care, and education.”
It’s no accident that these are three of the four industries in which the government already interferes most. The fourth is banking.

Obama: “We have known for decades that our survival depends on finding new sources of energy. Yet we import more oil today than ever before.”
Americans found new, abundant, cost-effective sources of energy decades ago: nuclear power and off-shore drilling, to name two. Environmentalist government killed both of them. Now Obama wants to invest in energy sources that are not cost-effective, because environmentalists want less energy, not more.

Obama: “The cost of health care eats up more and more of our savings each year, yet we keep delaying reform.”

When I was a child in New York City in the early 1960s, a doctor visit cost $2, and a house call cost $5. That was just before Medicare and Medicaid, and before an avalanche of outlandish malpractice awards, and before government dictated what services must be covered by health insurance policies, and before a litany of government regulations that consume more than half of the average doctor’s time. Medicine is already mostly socialized.

Obama: “Our children will compete for jobs in a global economy that too many of our schools do not prepare them for.”

American education is already almost entirely socialist. Need one say more?

Obama: “[E]very American who is sitting here tonight loves this country and wants it to succeed.”

Does a slave want the plantation to succeed? Not while his master owns it. And do I want those with a lesser work ethic than mine to “succeed” with my money?

Obama: “We are not quitters.”

Of course the master does not want his slaves to quit. I say quit, hold back, don’t help the dictator, don’t help the parasites live off of the producers.

Obama: “Our recovery plan … will launch a new effort to conquer a disease that has touched the life of nearly every American by seeking a cure for cancer in our time.”
The newest strain of cancer can be found in the White House. It is growing out of control, consuming all productive individuals in its path.

A “fitting” summation of Obama’s theatre of the absurd in Washington can be found in this excellent cartoon by John Cox, published just before Obama’s speech last night.
