Donald Trump has virtually no chance of becoming even the Republican Party’s candidate in 2016, much less being elected President of the United States. If Trump ran as a third-party candidate he would virtually guarantee victory for Hillary Clinton.
Big-government advocates will say that as society grows more complex, laws must multiply to keep up. The opposite is true. It is precisely because society is unfathomably complex that laws must be kept simple.
It’s not clear what Trump has to offer, other than a willingness (at times refreshing) to speak his mind, without fear of reprisal.
After six years, the report card is in. The grades are not pretty. By every key economic measurement, blacks are worse off under Obama. In some cases, far worse off.
Government shovels more money into its big, dumb projects and pretends to build the future. But our future is more likely to be built by thousands of entrepreneurs who make the countless contributions that quietly improve our lives.
The political left’s great claim to authenticity and honor is that what they advocate is for the benefit of the less fortunate. But how could we test that?
