Honest Examination of Race

One definition given for insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results; it might also be a definition of stupidity. Let’s look at some cities where large percentages of black Americans live under poor conditions.

Experiencing a violent crime rate of 2,137 per 100,000 of the population, Detroit is the nation’s most dangerous city. Rounding out Forbes magazine’s 2012 list of the 10 most dangerous cities are St Louis; Oakland, Calif.; Memphis, Tenn.; Birmingham, Ala.; Atlanta; Baltimore; Stockton, Calif.; Cleveland; and Buffalo, N.Y. The most common characteristic of these predominantly black cities is that for decades, all of them have been run by Democratic and presumably liberal administrations. Some cities — such as Detroit, Buffalo, Newark, N.J., and Philadelphia — haven’t elected a Republican mayor for more than a half-century. What’s more is that in most of these cities, blacks have been mayors, chiefs of police, school superintendents and principals and have dominated city councils.

You might ask, “What’s the point, Williams?” Let’s be clear about it. I’m not stating that there’s a causal relationship between crime, poverty and squalor on the one hand and, on the other, Democratic and black political control over a city. Nor am I saying that blacks ought to vote Republican. What I am saying is that if one is strategizing on how to improve the lives of the poorest black people, he wants to leave off his to-do list election of Democrats and black politicians. Also to be left off the to-do list is a civil rights agenda. Racial discrimination has little to do with major problems confronting black people.

Today 72 percent of black babies are born out of wedlock. Being born and finding out that your mother is 17 years old, that your grandmother is 35 and that you don’t know who or where your father is is not a good start on life. In fact, it’s a near guarantee for school dropout, poverty and crime, but such a start in life has nothing to do with racial discrimination.

Law-abiding poor black people suffer the nation’s highest rates of criminal victimization from assaults and homicide. More than 50 percent of homicide victims are black. Would anyone claim that this victimization is caused by racist groups preying on the black community? In addition to victimization, the level of lawlessness in many black communities has the full effect of a law banning economic growth. That’s because the thugs are equal-opportunity thugs who will rip off a black-owned business just as they’d rip off a white-owned business.

Black education is a disaster, but who runs the violent, disruptive big-city schools, where education is all but impossible? For the most part, it’s not white people. Go to a city such as Detroit and you’ll find that blacks have been superintendents, principals and most of the teachers for years. Most black high-school students, in Detroit and other cities, can’t read, write and compute as well as sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade white students, but is it because of racism? What the elite teach is not only futile but counterproductive. For example, speaking standard English in an English-speaking country is critical for self-improvement. But that’s not the lesson from the nation’s multiculturalists, who call for the celebration of native languages and dialects. Sloppy-minded academics and assorted hustlers have taught that poor English, gangsta rap, men wearing pigtails and thug behavior should not be criticized but become a part of the celebration of diversity.

Black people could benefit from an honest examination of the bill of goods they’ve been sold. Such an examination would not come from black politicians, civil rights leaders or the black and white liberal elite. Those people have benefited politically and financially from keeping black Americans in a constant state of grievance based on alleged racial discrimination. The long-term solution for the problems that many black Americans face begins with an absolute rejection of the self-serving agenda of hustlers and poverty pimps.

I just saw the movie, The Scalphunters, with Ossie Davis and Burt Lancaster. It’s a comedy look back to how things used to be in America just 40 years ago. Somehow watching this movie it seems that things were better then. Something has gone terribly wrong from then until now, and that thing is leftism, which includes multiculturalism. Thanks for all you do Dr. Williams, you’re a hero of mine and I enjoy reading your books and articles. Perhaps all is not lost though because of technology. Technology seems to march forward regardless of, well, everything. We don’t see any computer chips in the dirt anywhere. If technology is the product of man’s reason, or reasoning mind, it doesn’t seem to depend on the widespread occurrence of men who reason. It just seems to matter that reason itself has been discovered and not that many men have discovered reason. Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that education may well be moving over to the Internet and that will drain the swamp of the lefty indoctrinators. Justice, tech can’t help us there.

The North’s Deep South: Detroit, St. Louis, Cleveland, Buffalo, Baltimore, are all cities that have failed economically – as well as the other cities noted by Dr. Williams above, although the other cities are geographically not in the North – Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis, Oakland, and Stockton – , they have all failed for the same reason. Why?

It is interesting to note that these cities have all failed for the same reasons that the states of the Deep South failed economically and remained sparsely settled before, and after the civil war – overt racism.

Racism in it’s most basic form denies, and thus does not provide, the protection of the rule of law. Once the rule of law can be denied, for any reason, it can be denied to anyone for any reason that those who “decide” may choose. Whether the rule of law is stripped by the Grand Dragon of the KKK, or by Julian Bond of the NAACP, the message is the same and is crystal clear, and without equivocation: “…we don’t have to offer you the protection of the law….” Though all of these cities have the physical trappings of the “Rule of Law”, i.e. courts, judges, prosecutors, juries, and “legal proceedings,” the practical reality is that these cities “enjoy” the rule of man over the rule of law, as it is implicitly understood that there are crimes – political corruption – that are beyond the law. In this context the legal trappings are simply the ornamentation , the vehicle if you will, for perpetrating institutional fraud.

The denial of the rule of law may begin with race, but it is quickly, and silently perverted to the denial of blind justice to: “whomever I may choose” by those who have obtained control of the mechanisms of government. It may initially, and overtly be based upon race, but, in the final analysis, if justice may be denied to anyone based upon race, it may be denied to anyone, and is rapidly denied to the general populace by those who dispense “justice.” The rational is always the same: ” we – the old south’s ‘good o’l boys’, and the North’s Deep South black politicians – are the only ones truly worthy of “legal protection;” and ‘we’ will tell you just exactly what ‘justice’ is, and it certainly won’t be blind.”

More basically the question is one of personal morality. In a microcosm the question may be seen in the context of morality and illegitimate births. Essentially the question is: can a populace who sees nothing wrong with bearing, virtually, three of every four births out of wedlock be trusted to morally dispense impartial blind justice?

The answer to this question may, most honestly, be viewed in light of population flight. The flight of those from the cities “governed” by Democrat black populations who repeatedly, and continually elect, and re-elect non-performing corrupt politicians based not upon merit, but rather upon skin color. Those who flee, whether black or white, flee for the same reason. They seek a relief from the human rot; they flee seeking an environment where there is at least an opportunity, a chance, that blind justice and the rule of law might be applied. The true irony is that those who flee the human moral rot by moving to another city, state, or geographic area do so only to again vote for the perverse disease that they sought relief from – Democrat politicians – only to metastasize the moral cancer; each person in so doing believing, in his heart, that this time, they will obtain a different outcome.

What would make anyone believe that someone who would steal from whitie, would not steal from you once whitie is gone!

    Nothing moral is hereditary.

    quote
…do so only to again vote for the perverse disease
    unquote

Justice can only be applied in the here and now. There is no future or no past to justice. This is the great evil that the leftist commits with his racist quota programs. Guilt is not hereditary. Nothing moral is hereditary.
